The Brief: Take a technology that already existed 5 years ago and come up with an innovative solution using that technology in a new way.
As we were searching for a problem, we stumbled across a horrific yet often overlooked issue: drug overdose. What’s worse? We found that 1 in 4 teens have taken medication that weren’t theirs. And where did they find it? Inside their own home, more specifically in their medicine cabinet. So we wanted to find a solution to protect and prevent this from happening.
Thinking about how to implement the technology, we decided on fingerprint ID. But this time, instead of just unlocking something, it also locked the pills themselves and only granted access to certain people.
Additionally, the pill bottle design was thought to challenge and rethink the safety and accessibility issues the current ones have
